American Buggy Association

ABA meets the first Thursday of selected months at a local restaurant in the San Fernando Valley or Simi Valley. Starting at 6:30 PM. See schedule for meeting dates. Applicant attendance requirements are two meetings and two outings. Yearly membership dues of $55 are payable every January, this includes $30 for CORVA membership.

Mitch Fisher and Kristy Swanson had their wedding on January 10

 

Scott and Natalla Swanson are proud to announce that we are having a Boy. Due date is 

June 15, 2004. His name will be Matthew Scott.

 

Eliot Fisher proposed to Kim Bertola and the wedding date is set for March 14.

November 03  Meeting Minutes

Treasurers Report: ABA has $1,810.40 as of today. 

Correspondence: None

Committee Reports
    Newspaper: The Newsletter and the WEB Page are doing fine.
    ABA Store: No report.
    Equipment: All equipment is returned to Jeff.
    Health and Welfare: Scott and Natalla Swanson are expecting.
                                       Bob Swanson shoulder still has problems.
    CORVA Rep: The Snowy Plover fencing has been removed and the beach is now open to mile post 9. 
    Historian: Not present. 

Old Business: Plaques need to be ordered.
Judy will check on the availability of New Horizons for the Christmas Party.

New Business: The ABA 2004 officer elections were held and the results are as follows:

January Outing report

Truckhaven CORVA Poker Run 

January 17 & 18, 2004      Sat. - Sun.

    We arrived at about 8:00 Saturday morning to find all the others from ABA already set up the poker run starting point and and were on the way to man the course check points. The weather was great in the low 70s and a little breeze to keep the dust down. We had just under 300 participants that ran the Poker run, at each checkpoint there were games and lots of smiling dusty people taking a rest stop. The Course was a great success thanks to the work of Rick Fisher and Geoff Teare who spent the previous week setting it up. After the run everyone had hamburgers, hotdogs and chili fir dinner, cooked by the Trail Masters club. Then we had the Raffle and awards for the winners. Sunday morning several of the jeeps went out to clean up the markers from the poker run and the kids went on a scavenger hunt to gather automobile names from the adults, Jodi Berg was the first to collect all the names. Sunday was another beautiful day in the desert. The rest of the day was spent going on rides and most people packed up, Momday morning the kids got a few rides in before it a light mist began, so we packed up and headed home.

February outings

Meeting February 5, 2004      Thursday

The meeting will be at Carrow's Restaurant Chatsworth, located at 20557 Devonshire Street Chatsworth.

The topics of discussion will be: Budget, Outing schedule, Glamis, Pismo, Garage sale and the Holiday parties.

The Garage sale will be at Wayne & Jill Berg's house 7:30am to 3:00pm Saturday the 20th, if we are rained out it will be the next Saturday. Bring lots of stuff to sell. Things can be dropped off early before Saturday.

Pismo March 26-28       Fri. - Sun.

This outing is looking like there will be a good turnout.

We will be camped just before Mile post 4.
