American Buggy Association

ABA meets the first Thursday of selected months at a local restaurant in the San Fernando Valley or Simi Valley. Starting at 6:30 PM. See schedule for meeting dates. Applicant attendance requirements are two meetings and two outings. Yearly membership dues of $55 are payable every January, this includes $30 for CORVA membership.

Eliot & Kim Fisher are expecting early December.

 

Terry and Faith Work got Married  September 18 .

 

Terry and Faith are now Grandparents too, Melissa had a baby boy Oct 6^th.

Ethan Blaze Rivera, born at 7:13am, 6 pounds 10 ounces, 18 and ½ inches tall. Great looking boy with a full head of black hair!

 

 

Last Meeting Minutes August 7

Meeting Called to order at 6:55pm 7/7/2004 at Carrow's Restaurant 
    Guests Present: None

    Applicants Present: None

    Previous Minutes: Read by Jill Berg. Unanimously approved as read.

    Treasurers Report: ABA has $2125.29 as of today. 

    Correspondence: Jim Arbogast of CORVA contacted Wayne Berg to confirm that ABA will be putting on the Barrel Race at the Southern Jamboree.

Committee Reports

Newspaper: Outing reports were read.

ABA Store: Not Present.

Equipment: Wayne returned all the equipment back to Jeff.

Health and Welfare: Eliot and Kim Fisher are expecting in December

CORVA Rep: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service publish[ed] a final rule, identifying 21,863 acres of land in the Algodones Dunes as critical habitat for Peirson's milk-vetch.  Most of the critical habitat is in the long-closed wilderness area north of the highway. 
CORVA Southern Jamboree is coming up at the end of September.
We need to start planning for Truck Haven.

Historian: Not present

Old Business: Plaques need to be ordered.
Christmas Party is reserved for Dec. 4th (MARK YOUR CALANDERS), Emails and flyers will be sent out.

New Business: The next meeting will be moved to the second Thursday to allow members to go to Oceano Dunes as early as Wednesday.
ABA reunion at Las Vegas will be on April 16 & 17, 2005.

September Outing report     

CORVA Southern Jamboree at Hungry Valley:

We arrived late Friday night after climbing the grade very slowly due to a failed fan clutch.

Saturday morning the kids got registered, then we went to set up the Barrel race. In the beginning things were fairly slow, but in the afternoon things picked up as the competition for the trophy positions heated up. John Oldham, Chuck Hendricks, Raul Ayala and myself ran Barrel races. By closing we had 270+ runs on the barrel race.  Rick Fisher, Geoff Teare and Terry Work were busy putting on the Ugly Obstacle Course. After the events everyone took a break for dinner then it was time for awards and the Raffle. Kyle Berg won 1st place at the barrel races for age 7 and unnder.
