April Outing reports

Las Vegas ABA Reunion

By Patti Shea

The ABA Reunion in Las Vegas in April was a great success. The weekend began with a luau at Jim and Kathy Shea's house and as current and former ABA'ers decked out in Hawaiian shirts and leis showed up, it was hugs all around for old friends.

Hoping to relive the revelry of ABA picnics of the past, weather conditions forced the relocation of Saturday's back to the Shea's. Everyone quickly decamped in the garage instead reliving the days spent in each other garages working on ATCs and dune buggies. Decades worth of photos albums were thumbed through, some recalling forgotten outings, other commenting on how young they looked.

ABA President Scott Swanson suggested everyone go around an tellheir favorite club memory, which led to more laughs and tears. The day ended with a trip to the Monte Carlo for dinner, afterward everyone scattered to the casino to find Lady Luck.

The weekend was capped with a delicious breakfast at the Green Valley Inn, where photos from the weekend were passed around.

Next year we hope to have twice as many attendees. But here are the ABAers who attended:
Jill & Wayne Berg and family
Bill & Fran Boedeker
Merle & Joy Delzell
Jeff & Terri Field
Mary & Dave Freedman
Peggy & Paul Gauldin and family
Anne & Bill Maxwell
Mickey & Char Plante
John & Karen Roberson
Nick & Tiffany Saliani and family
